More than just a place for students to hang out, we here at The Path desire to create an atmosphere of growth and learning. This is why in 2013 we will begin to empliment our Enrichment Program.
We believe that in order to effectivly mentor students we must connect with them spiritually, socially and through academics. Our Enrichment Program is our attempt to combine these areas of a students life within The Path. The program will consist of three main objectives: Life Coaches (mentoring), Group Trips such as camping, and Enrichment Courses.
Our Life Coach program is intended to connect adults and students from our community. The purpose of this connection is for our volunteers to encourage students through challenging life circumstances. Interested in being a life coach? Get Involed!
Througout the school semesters we will plan a variety of group trips for students. These are intended to provide an exciting atmosphere outside of our direct community for our Life Coaches to build and maintain strong relationships with the students. These trips will generally be low cost to the students. Examples of trips are camping, kayaking, and broom ball. Events will be posted on our Upcoming Events page.
This semester we have several enrichment courses planned to help students develop areas of interest. The courses for this semester are...
Our Music Education course is intended to teach students basic instrumentation. Studies show that students who study a musical instrument have higher test scores in school. This semester we will be teaching the fundamentals of playing guitar.
My World Now
My World Now is a course directed towards group discussions about current events and issues that students are faced with.
World Religions (World-View)
This course will discuss how world religions impacts students today. Many of us don't realize how much different religions affects the discisions we make. Understanding world religions helps us to understand our culture and make smarter life choices!
My Role In the Family
Our heart here at The Path is not only to reach out to students, but their entire families. Through this course we hope to help family members understand their role in developing healthy family relationships.
